A crash course in changing the world.
This is another idea for the "Challenge the Network" discussion.
This would be a Maker's challenge. The challenge is to make something.
First, you would try to identify some need to want that you are someone else has.
Then you would find something you could make using the resources around you that would address this need or want.
Then you would make it, and blog about it (preferably with pictures!)
It is important to stress that this would be made out of resources readily available to you in your environment. This means don't buy anything. Instead, look around your house and use that old thing you don't need anymore, or go to the dump and find some good scrap metal.
The need also doesn't have to be a pressing one. Maybe you just need a Computer Monitor Cat Bed, or a Battery Free Bike Light. The possibilities are endless!
The reward for this would be resourcefulness, with maybe sustainability or local insight, depending on design and use of local materials.
A great source for finding innumerable things to make is Instructables.
