A crash course in changing the world.
My Innovative Hero
For my hero, I chose Priti Radhakrishnan.
I found her on the poptech website after searching through several of the alumni. I watched her video, and I could tell that she is truly passionate about what she does.
What exactly does she do?
Ms. Radhakrishnan and her team of scientists and lawyers challenge patents on medication that do not comply with the law. If they win, the patents are removed. When these patents are removed, the medication becomes incredibly cheaper. In one instance, an HIV medication went from $2000 to $200! This is the difference between life and death for thousands, even millions, of people affected by illnesses around the world who cannot afford their medication.

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
