I live in Croatia, Europe.
My country is full of fresh clean uncontaminated water.
We can drink it from the pipe or go to a trip to the hill Sljeme and drink directly from a small creek.
So we really have clean water. There is little or no polluting industry here.
Other countries in Europe have some things we don't. Nuclear energy plants for example.
But they don't have clean water. They have to buy it bottled, sometimes from us (Jana or Jamnica)
So why don't we sign a deal to export this clean water to them, for free, and in return get free energy.
This deal would perhaps put one of us (I don't know which one) to a disadvantage, but it would also strengthen our diplomatic ties with them and maybe with such a deal they would help us better use our natural resources, because we really don't use them to the top, and we could. We just don't have the money for the infrastructure, but for the western European countries could easily finance it, if it were to their advantage.
I heard there was a similar deal in South America, where Chavez gave free oil to Cuba and Castro sent his best doctors to teach Venezuelans and bring medicine (since Venezuela has so much oil, and Cuba has so many doctors). And it worked with them, why not in Europe?
What do you think? Would such a deal work here?
