Innovators have tried to come up with the best, most effective ways to reduce the use of energy. Here are some amazing new inventions that I learned while researching sustainable energy:
- Wave Snakes: generate power by using the up-and-down motion of waves
- Wind Blimp: extremely lightweight wind turbine that looks like a kite spinning blades
- Archimede: first solar power plant that uses molten salt as heat to transfer fluid to store energy from the sun
- Power plant run on chicken poo: this plant converts 440,000 tons of manure into electricity annually
- Geothermal energy: power is extracted from geysers that transfer the earth's heat into energy
- Wind turbines: the new thing is to attach them to buildings in the cities
- Waste from slaughterhouses converted to diesel, fertilizer, and chemicals
- Helius Energy: power plant that coverts distillery by-products to generate electricity
- Solar Thermal Tower: 40-story tower surrounded by 600 steel reflectors that convert solar energy into steam power
- Power plants linked with wind turbines
These are all innovations that could change sustainable energy around the world.
