NEXTSTEP: Reid Falconers "Lynedoch Ecovillage Follow up. My amazing journey"

I know I am late for the challenge but I really wasn't able to get online, and it's never too late to start caring about environment right? Ofcourse you should start ASAP but you know what I mean:)
The blog post that inspired me has been made by Reid Falconer, he is the #1 on the Leaderboard and I think he really deserved it, he made a post about him going to the Lynedoch Ecovillage and you can see there how much EVOKE and the environment means to him, I didn't see anyone else having a blog post like that, I also personally like Ecovillages too, my dad takes me couple times a year to them and I really have an awesome time there and it really inspired me to see that someone on EVOKE network also likes to go and visit that kind of places:)
I promise that when the weather gets nicer and when dad takes me again to some Eco village I will also post a blog post like that because now its a snow blizzard out there where I am (Croatia, and what about you?), I'm really looking forward to it and I hope that EVOKE could put up a challenge for us to go and visit some Eco village and then make a blog post about it and then you reward us with powers you think we deserved for it that would be a really awesome challenge:)

Well, here is his original post to see what am I talking about:
My Amazing Journey To my Dream ( an Ecovillage )

Hi guys, when I wrote a blog about my dream/imagine where i would be in 2020(http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/imagine1-my-future-your-f...), I wrote on how I wanted to be the founder and manager of my very own ecovillage. When got some feed back from other evoke user about maybe writing a blog about an ecovillage near my home. I did so, I found out about the Lynedoch Ecovillage roughly 30 minutes from my home and proceeded to write a blog on that(http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/lynedoch-ecovillage) In my blog i stated that I was going to try and visit the ecovillage.

Today I woke up at 7.00am to set off to go and visit the ecovillage. I arrived there at about 8.00am this is where the magic started. As I walked through the main gates of the ecovillage I was struck by the sense of tranquility and serenity. I only had to walk a matter of steps to be greeted by a friendly worker. His name was Lukus and he was doing the litter clean up. I asked him what exactly the litter clean up was and he explained that every day it is a specific persons duty to walk around the entire village and pick up all the litter that was lying around. I helped him finish off the last bit of the village clean up as we chatted about how the ecovillage worked and how I could possibly get involved. He walked me around and showed me how the village was self reliant on natural energy. He also gave me a chance to take a look around in the green house where they grow and produced all their fruit and vegetables. The main focus of the ecovillage is the eco-school which they have set up. The school students are mainly farm children and a few of them are sadly suffering for foetal alcohol syndrome This school is fully self sustainable. They even have a no energy required air-conditioning system where they have special metal pipes that are place all around the school that help reduce the temperature.

I unfortunately was unable to meet the professor in charge today but have arranged a meeting for next week saturday because I would really like to get involved with this project. I have heard that evoke are going to be supporting projects like these and I would possibly like to make my impact on the Lynedoch Ecovillage.

Here are some pictures of my amazing journey today:

I hope you really enjoyed this one because I know I did:) Visit the post and give him a power up:)

It is great that you get to go and spend time at an ecovillage every year. I agree with you about Reid also. He has posted some amazing blogs :-)

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
