Nuclear battery reactors :)
Here is an interesting clean energy project for remote or small comunities. Toshiba 4S is a small nuclear reactor that can give 10 MW of electrical power to a small community.
It is currently set to be tested in a small community in Alaska. If successful, it could enable small communities to function off large grids and have a secure source of energy as the reactor should be able to run for up to 30 years without refueling.
NuScale is another company that has a similar idea, their reactor would be more powerful at 45 MW of electricity, as well as 160 MW thermal that could be used to heat houses and save electricity for other uses.
There are other competing designs, but, really, this is a good development overall, as it allows for decentralization of the energy grid and brings power (literally) to small communities.

Interesting. Many environmentalists are changing their stance towards nuclear power because it doesn't emit CO2. I think they also distrusted the inherently centralist power that would have to go in hand with nuclear power because of safety and security. For example, smaller plants would mean smaller scale accidents. Thanks for sharing this!

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
