Let it be known that I currently have limited understanding of electro & thermodynamics and tiny amounts of knowledge with current/voltage. Thus my design is simply an idea:
Power a light bulb from ones own body heat, since heat radiates from the body at around 100 watts and as we can be detected the difference with sensors and cameras perhaps a room with a certain material for wall paper or a device woven into a pillow/blanket/seat can be used to capture the excess heat and turn it into electrical energy to power a light. I feel I would be better equipped once I have reviewed (MIT's) Prof Walter Lewin's lectures on electricity and magnetism, Once I have finished with prof Leonard Susskind's quantum entanglement.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say Stanford university has a wonderful array of seminars from 2007 to date on energy
http://itunes.stanford.edu/ which may give some people a great idea for this mission.
Big hooray for open courses!
