I have chosen three to shadow:
Kari Saratovsky of Social Citizen,
Treehugger and
Planetgreen. It took me a while to find these. I didn't want to follow a tweeter that was just an organization.... that's what led me to Kari. She's an individual whose life has been dedicated to this kind of work from the very start of her career.
The other two I chose because they emphasize green practices and sustainable living, and they looked like their tweets could be useful--leading me to blog posts that will help me to be a better citizen. One recent blog post by treehugger was about
how you can buy happiness without buying stuff -- that caught my eye and confirmed my intuition that experience is more important than things when it comes to spending money... Planetgreen talks about offering
"practical, everyday tips on how to live a
greener lifestyle...[and] actionable advice across a variety of
topics: green made real."
Green made real: that's what this planet needs more of.
"Shadowing" is a great concept. It is a way to grow an emergent collective intelligence network around solving global problems. I'm glad to be part of the process, and one more "neuronal" unit in the newly mushrooming noosphere.
