A crash course in changing the world.
Having studied this blog article, I want to share my favorite secret of creative thinking which can be found in the seven rules from Paul Polak:
"Think creatively: start big, use constraints as a filter and find the simplest solution."
First of all, it is helpful to start with the creation of a "big picutre". This enables getting an overview of a problem and its connections to other issues while it does not limit creative thinking. It is possible to understand dependencies and understand an issue more easy. Moreover, this methodology assures to think into different directions and to be creative as there is not only one solutions existing for a problem.
After having created the "big picutre", it is necessary to think creative in order to become a social innovator. Do not restric your creativitiy and think into different directions. As innovations can develop from various resources and reasons, the secrect of creative thinking also combines some of the other 32 secrets described in the article.
To find the simplest solution, it is necessary to filter your creative solutions. Focus on solutions that are marketable today and not a vision. In addition, complex solutions are not the best solutions. Therefore, use constraints as a filter to find the simplest solution for social innovations.
To sum up, creative thinking is important for social innovation and can help to change the world.
