IMAGINE 1: Fabricating the Future in 2020
http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/imagine-1-fabricating-the...Josh, Cool writing style! And you are very correct in your March 5th comment about remote fab station being possible... and I'd venture to say, downright easy to create.
Josh's vision of making "Web Kiosks" isn't that far off, for sure. There has been experimentation with embedding electronics directly into the walls of products made with 3D printers. It works great and drastically reduces quantities of materials used as well as the cost of the product. Big downsides, though! Almost impossible to repair products and even harder to recycle.
But, for me, your genius lies in the the SPARK it created for me. I am working on a "blue-ocean" technology in 3D fabrication. Your thinking has inspired a wh*** new way of using the technology I'm working on... I'm gonna have to make a few adjustments to my business plan now and its all your fault! Thanks much for your incite!
