A crash course in changing the world.

Two years ago I attended a seminar at HTWK Leipzig (University) regarding a special technology in the field of regenerative energies. We discussed about how biohydrogen in connection with fuel cells can solve the problem of shortage of fossil fuels.

Using that technology would change our everyday life in Europe dramatically. We would use biohydrogen, which is produced in local bio-power plants and our existing gas pipelines to serve every household. At each home we could generate power through fuel cells (which, of course, have to be developed, since they are not energy efficient by now).

This technology is heavily debated, because there are many companies worldwide, who profit from the electricity business as it is working so far. For further information and some statements from different people concerning this technology you can visit the website of Dipl. Ing. Karl-Heinz-Tetzlaff, who is a pioneer in that field.

This energy concept looks very future orientated and would be very eco-friendly. However, I think it will be very complicated to introduce it. One the one hand, a huge amount of investments for the infrastructre need to be provided. On the other hand, the worldwide energy providers have a lot of power and need to be confinced of introducing a concept like this. This will only happen, if they gain benefits from introducing a new energy concept ...

Hey Christian, thank you for your comment. We also discussed those two topics during the seminar:

1) infrastructure: it would be no problem to use the existing gas net in Germany. Almost every city in Germany is served through that net and there is absolutely no investment needed. What has to be paid is the generators in each house, but this seems feasable for each household.

2) energy providers: that is the real problem. Why should they give up their existing power and their business model? Since the market is an oligopol in most of the countries and this new technology would needed to be served by local companies, the existing ones would lose their total market power. That is why until now this new technology is of course not supported by existing power providers and needs to be funded by smaller companies and projects.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
