A crash course in changing the world.

Jon Young.

This is who I chose to follow for my ACT1. I am getting updates of all website activity to my email account as this the easiest for me to track what he is doing.

Jon Young is not a social innovator... he is a social creator. He has originally mentored as a naturalist by Tom Brown Jr. He then went off and got a bachelors degree in natural history and anthropology. He has studies indigenous ways all over the world in a multitude of cultures. Once he finds a link between cultures on at least 3 different continents, he will then incorporate this into his cultural teachings. And, his hobby seems to start pockets of sub-culture using these principles. One example is the Wilderness Awareness School (http://www.wildernessawareness.org/) in Washington State, USA. I highly recomend their Kamana training program and have personal worked on Kamana 1 and 2... Hope to start 3 before August.

Jon has given over 1000 public presentations and has helped many PhD and Masters students as well as undergraduates with the completion of their degrees on topics ranging from native education to wildlife tracking. Having spent a good part of 9 months with Jon and his instructors at the Institute of Nature Awareness, I can vouch for his abilities. The fact is, if I told you some of the things I've seen him and his advanced students do or accomplish, you wouldn't believe me (same goes for Tom Brown Jr) unless you saw it yourself. But, as a teaser I can tell you that Jon can track mountain lions or high flying Peregrin falcons just by watching and listening to birds. He can predict the presents of quietly walking humans on a forest trail 5 minutes before they are visible to the eye. I've also seen him change peoples lives with his cultural teachings. His website is jonyoung.org. He also started the Shikari tracking guild.

Here is a bio for Jon: http://www.regenerativedesign.org/jonbio

If you like nature, want to learn what birds say, what an animal track means, or how indigenous cultures work sustainably... this is a great resource to you!

"I haven't really said too much about John because I feel anything I say will not do him proper justice in the way he wishes it presented so I will just point you to his website: jonyoung.org"

I would take this statement out and go into as much detail about him as you can. Find different sources of information and include an excerpt from each source with a link to the site.

Have fun with it, and get people intrigued enough to want to learn more about him :-)

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
