A crash course in changing the world.
"UN calls for immediate release of abducted school girls in north-eastern Nigeria".
The name of the article that I have chosen to review from the WomenWatch news feed. This story holds many implications not only for women around the world but the stability of Africa additionally. With a civil war (resulting from tribal factionalism), currently erupting in South Sudan and a failed state system giving rise to the most violent splinter organizations of Al Qaeda in Somalia and Kenya it is infinitely important that we prevent additional collapses of African Nations. Abduction of little girls from schools in Nigeria is the last thing we could endure right now.
This article is significant also because it is the next project for Ban Ki-Moon to involve himself with after giving up on prospects for peace in Syria. It is important to observe if one of the most talented and dedicated envoys for the UN will be able to pick himself up from such a detrimental experience and continue work in yet another horrible situation.
