Your own family social network
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share something that I feel has brought my family closer, and something you can do easily to bring any social group you care about together.
Since being involved on Evoke, I have been researching the technology it's built on. They use a service called ning.com, who provides the software that created the basic social networking site we are all using. You can go to ning.com and create your own site just like this for any social network you want to build up.
So I decided to create one for my family http://nagaofamily.ning.com/ ; So far it has allowed us to find pictures we had forgotten about because only 1 person had it and they didn't share it with everyone because it wasn't that easy (not everyone is on the same network, some people are on facebook, myspace, etc). Now that we're all gathered in one place, we can share things with one another that only we care about, including family events, personal triumphs, etc. It has brought our family closer together by promoting more communication as well, because now we check in with each other passively at least once a day when we're checking the site. And just like we've seen here, when we are encouraged that others are seeing what we're doing and appreciating it, we post even more!
Anyways, our family is really enjoying our new social network, and I hope your family can benefit just as much as ours!

Fourth of July on the Lake

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
