This is the seed of an idea that started in
my IMAGINE3 assignment: Power Day, a day when everyone everywhere turns off the power, leaves the cars at home, and celebrates the basic power of being human.
Jane McGonigal suggested that we try to make it a real day for EVOKErs, and anyone else we can convince, sometime before the May 12 EVOKATION date.
In my imagined story, people celebrated by having picnics and parties that they bike to (or walk to, although I didn't mention walking), and also volunteer to take turns hand-powering essential equipment that needs to be powered all the time.
What do you think? Could we do this? How can we plan it? What would it look like? Can we give the EVOKE network the gift of a day without consuming power?
