IMAGINE 4

If I have to imagine about 'Happy World Water Day 2020' I see a big event around the globe. I would like to suggest that similar activities are happening at the same day to the same time on every continent. That means at least 7 and not exceeding 14 events (=2 for one continent).
First of all famous people are needed who support this event. At all locations there would be a big concert which is free of cost for everyone. Participants need only to take over a 'water-sponsorship'. That means to support an idea which is presented at the same area of the concert by different organizations, pupils, students, researchers, scientists etc. Such support could include for example:
take pictures of relevant information, write an article/book,draw a picture/cartoon, make a film, perform a little play, arrange a discussion, trigger an action and of course donate some money or buy equipment (e.g. lifesaver bottle) for the poorest of the poor so they are provided to improve their quality of life.
This world wide event could maybe take up to 3 or 4 days. During this time the projects which will show use and behave of humans and water are focused and shaped up. Socialites act as patrons, sponsors and helpers. Each age group should be adressed. For musical spectrum at these days stars of every genre will gave their best to celebrate 'Happy World Water Day 2020' and to do a really great performance.

I would make an event in the sewers of big cites. It’s much closer to the original topic and it is an great interesting location.

My event would be on a beach with plenty of sports activities and food and drink stands. It would be free but there will be donation boxes placed at every stand or activity. There would be big dances and lots of prizes to be won for people who donated over $2. The music would be loud and happy and everyone would be able to dance and sing along.

I would have the event at a beach, and there would be a cornered off area for inflatable toys and kayaks. The event would be free, but little shops, cafes and markets would sit on the perimeter of the beach for people to enjoy. Volunteers would walk around asking if people would like to dontate.
When night comes, music would play loudly for everyone to dance to, and shows and dances would be performed on a stage.

I would have an event at a river/lake and have river swings and waterslides and everyone could play or swim in the river/lake and there would be inflatable fun stuff for everyone. Everyone would have a chance to donate at the end and I would make sure it was very fun and enjoyable.

I would have a park event, like a fair but alot of it free, with free waterand donation boxes. and people would be having fun and DJ's and host's to make it worth it and peple actually enjoy themselfs. and some movies about water and other problems around the world

I would have a beach event, like a party with talks and donation boxes, perhaps with movies on water and sanitation. Something fun, so people actually enjoy it and come. But not splashing out on big things.

I would make an event where there should be free water for people to drik, people bathing in clean water - mabe host the event at a beach - there should be a DJ and people enjoying themselfs - kind of like a beach party but then around the beach there should be small sign telling facts about the water problems all around the world. At nighttime there should be an outdoor cinema showing some movies about the waterproblems mabe some movies that people have made themselfs as well.

On World Water Day 2020, people from all different nationalities and ages gather together in Africa. It's like a water amusement park.. There are giants wheels of water, water rides, etc. Groups of people are using dirty water and cleaning it so there's no risks when people drink the water. People are making speeches on their ideas on how to provide clean water to everyone in the world.

The event is in the middle of Copenhagen, and there will be music, a skatepark, different kind of food, contests, and last but not least plenty of free water!
But in the middle of the event, someone will turn of all "water activity" so no one can go to the toilet, and all the music will stop, because a lot of the electricty runs on water.
Then everybody will know how serious a problem it is!

WATER - 2020, I like the idea of hundreds of windows, dressed up to look like rivers & waterfalls. Salmon jumping, fish swimming and of course families fishing, drinking and cooking near the river.

I shall host World-wide Cloud seeding event.
Comment by richard gonzalez on May 12, 2010 at 7:26pm
i would create the world largest draining tube that will capture all the water and make sure not one drop of water is getting wasted. and i would tell the world if we do this all our water problems will be gone

People in 2010 will celebrate Water Day following these tips:
http://www.wateruseitwisely.com/100-ways-to-conserve/index.php

people will try to save as much water as possible on World Water Day to show how much theyy appriciate it in their daily lives
Comment by Nisakorn Kotkhen on May 6, 2010 at 6:43am
It is a good idea to save water because humans use water everyday. We should make up a story when the world has no water. it is agood example to shower people if we live witout water what we can do. It will encourage people to save and appreciate water

Catch the rain!

During Rain Day 2020 everyone will see how much rain water they can catch and put to good use. Such as watering your house plants, filling a bath, or maybe a pot for cooking spaghetti.
Comment by Sol-A Kim on May 5, 2010 at 12:07am
Yes, Mine is similar with the competion of " who can take the quickes shower" posted by Luke Sokolewicz. My idea is simple. I'd like to create competitions in various ways to save water between companies, such as " which washing machines waste fewer amount of water". I think we can save water by using washing machine that needs fewer water.
Comment by Luke Sokolewicz on May 4, 2010 at 1:07am
I would create a competition of "who can take the quickest shower?" This would be a public event that anyone can participate in and a lot of people would attend. Admission costs would serve as donations for Water Worthy cause.

I would ask the wh*** planet to joint all their available resources to provide unpolluted water, highly quantitative and qualitative for life.I would also ask them to maintain a world where no one suffers or dies from a water-or sanitation-related disease.
