LEARN9: Coming to terms with uncertainty

Uncertainty during times of a crisis such as a pandemic can be both positive and negative to those overwhelmed by the pressure of deciding whether the information they received is a verifiable fact or a rumor. One possible consequence that can occur from rumors is that rumors can spark off a self-fulfilling prophecy. In other words, if nearly the entire population hears of the rumor, people are psychologically inclined to make actions that naturally lead to the expected consequence dictated…

ACT8: Indigenous Knowledge

This cellphone, however trivial, can act as a symbol of indigenous knowledge in future generations, in the sense that the device reveals some information on the primary method of communication during that period of history.

LEARN10: Future of EVOKE

The EVOKE challenge had been initially designed to teach world youth on how to become agents of change. But the EVOKE would not have been so successful if it had not emphasized action more than learning, that is, not just learning what to do to change the world, but more on learning how we should put those beliefs into action. This objective was achieved by collateral learning, where we complete a series of missions, learning the essentials on the way. This emphasis on real action should…

LEARN7: Sharing Urgent Informaiton in a Crisis

Ushahidi is a website originally developed to report incidents of violence in Kenya after the election in 2008. Kenyan citizens collaborated, especially journalists living in or writing about Kenya, during the time of the post-election crisis. The website was used then to promote peace by acc**ulating reports of violence or peace promotion throughout Kenya based on web articles posted by the web or by mobile phone. The network expanded, having 50000 members, leading other…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
