Recently, I have taken interest in something refered to as "bushcrafting". This is basically a grown-up version of the old fashion Boy Scouts, focusing on skill needed for wilderness self-reliance. The idea is to be able to head off into the wilderness with as little as possible, and not just survive, but thrive.
