Hopefully, in 2020's Christmas, my family will be fueled by renewable energy - solar panels on the roof, windmills in the field at the end of our street (I kid not), possibly geothermal energy (if the prices go down).

In Britain, a nightclub is using a new technology, based on springs and electricity-generating cubes under the floor, to generate power. Designed by Andrew Charalambous, the electricity is made from a process called piezoelectricity and then fed to external batteries used to power the nightclub.
The implications of this invention are great because of its simple adaptability. It could be used in school cafeterias, offices, on busy street corners, in food courts - the possibilities are…

For this "Learn" blogpost, I decided to research hunger statistics in Canada, and I was shocked. You never know the extent of misery until you see either the hard numbers, or the harsh sights - as someone who's been taking roughly the same itinerary from my house to my school for the past 6 years, I see the same homeless people everyday and don't get a true feeling of hunger and poverty in my city, much less in my country. In 10 years, hopefully, I will have already made some change in the world. I see myself a localization specialist, or translator-interpreter, or cultural liaison (something to do with the PEOPLE, basically) for an international help organization. I could be based in sub-Saharan Africa, China, India, the Middle-East, South America... wherever the crisis is the worst, or wherever my help is needed the most.

- Don’t fight culture (If people cook by stirring their stews, they’re not going to use a solar oven, no matter what you do to market it. Make them a better stove instead.
I think this is primordial, as it seems to be the main cause of helpful technologies taking time (if at all) in their integration. Populations used to living in poverty, or lower means of life, are usually set in their ways. Plus, knowing that the best help a population can get is self-help through…
