Urban Crisis In the Philippines

I foresee more ruinous floods to happen in Metro Manila, Philippines. The Philippines also has a bad waste disposal system because trash are not properly segregated - or worse, thrown into rivers, bays, or streets.

Favorite Global Giving Project

In 2020 I imagine that these women are happy living with their children. These women, in turn, are helping other women with their children's custody in terms of providing not only donation to answer for the cost of legal assistance, but also the moral support necessary before, during, and after the pursuit of the legal case. Further, I imagine that many lawyers, both men and women, are already offering pro bono legal aid to these women, especially those who are indigent. I also imagine that I… Continue

Acting for Women's Rights

On my facebook status, I posted "There are 100 ways to support women's equal opportunities and rights via Global Giving. Donate now!" and the link to the website. Although I cannot make any donations at the moment, I can still spread the word in the mean time so that in the future - when time and resources fully permit - I would be able to easily convince them to… Continue

GCASH in the Phillippines

The Philippines has attracted foreign attention through Globe Company's GCASH, which is a form of electronic money that can be transferred through text for purposes of paying purchases and bank loans, or just sending money to loved ones. The only other country that has done a similar scheme is in Africa. the electronic money is stored in one's cellphone account after paying for it in a GCASH outlet, while the money transferred can be converted in such outlet as well.…

Acting to Help Solve Water Crisis (ACT04)

A few months ago, I have already volunteered in Greenpeace Southeast Asia as a cyberactivist, who should help disseminate information from and strengthen campaigns by the organization. But I have not really been active in performing my task. Now, I have added Greenpeace Southeast Asia as a friend on Facebook to make the performance of my task more efficient and effective. As a first step, I have posted in my facebook account status a link to an article taken from the Greenpeace Philippines… Continue

Water Strike - World Water Day 2020

World Water Day 2020 will be a day of protest to take a stand for water security. I will collaborate with bottled water companies to not sell any water on that day, or resorts or hotels to not fill up the swimming pools on that day. I will organize the longest drinking fountain line in urban areas, as well as the longest public septic tank line in rural areas. I will also hold talks about water security (problems and solutions) through different volunteers in many parts of the country.

Agricultural Microfinance

In the Philippines, the problem of many farmers is that they do not have enough money to plant, grow, cultivate, and sell rice. And they do not actually need a lot of money. They only need a few pesos for water or irrigation, fertilizers, and rice capital. The Philippine government has yet to effectively address this issue. A few years ago, the government was faced with the Fertilizer Scandal because funds for fertilizers meant to be given to poor farmers were allegedly misappropriated by… Continue

Rice Security in the Phillippines, and IRRI

Rice is the staple food in the Philippines, as in other Southeast Asian countries. In the Philippines, it is normal for each of the three meals in one day to include rice and a viand (e.g. beef stew). Rice can easily fill one's stomach, thereby satisfying one's hunger. Rice is supposed to be cheap, but its cost increases when demand is high and supply is low. At times, the government resorted to providing rice subsidies to poorer citizens. Aside from the high cost of rice, the Philippines also… Continue

Al Gore

I picked Al Gore as my social innovator role model, because of his clean energy and climate change advocacies. His doc**entary, The Inconvenient Truth, not only exposes the harsh environmental realities in the status quo but also provides for solutions to prevent further environmental degradation. I added him up on Facebook. I intend to read more about him and his advocacies at www.algore.com. I also plan to buy a ticket to his lecture about The Inconvenient… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
