I'm from Croatia. The first thing I would change is the mafia bosses who made large money after the iron curtain fell through a process of privatization of public firms into private firms, and they now hold monopolies and business empires without doing anything but having good political connections. That's not fair.

I live near Washington DC, where there are many wonderful things, and also many problems--poverty, hunger, homelessness, and excesses of unsustainability.
Right now in the DC metro area there are more than 175 embassies, chanceries, diplomatic missions, and official residences. More than 175 chances to spread the word of sustainability, the work of EVOKE, here and worldwide.
I think that the first thing I would like to change, where there is no pre-existing, directed effort underway (homeless shelters, food banks, etc) to institute change, is to urge the US to partner with all the embassies, chanceries, missions, diplomatic residences (and all the sites of governance, culture/museums, etc--here in DC and throughout the US) to implement green-sustainability features and practices in all building operations and grounds.
From there, perhaps the US could partner with each country hosting US installations, hosts could partner with other nations on their soil, and so forth...
Making all installations and sites of governance, culture, etc., sustainable would provide an opportunity to showcase all the best green and sustainability technologies and initiatives the world has to offer.
The short term costs could be economically challenging, but, on the other hand, economies are in trouble right now, and a cooperative sustainability effort might assist a recovery (tech development, construction, investment, etc).
And the long term impacts--social, environmental, etc., could be priceless.

In the US, I'd teach everyone statistics and the scientific method (okay, I wouldn't teach them, but I'd make everybody learn it). Without a shared means to evaluate what works and what doesn't, discussions of principals are for naught. We are shuffling in the dark otherwise.

I am from Bolivia, first thing I would do is help people to re-gain self respect. The self-esteem is very low since colony times (been like this for 500 years!). This is only possible through EDUCATION and would take a series of generations to become a success.
I live in Spain, here I would like to change their tendency to reject the different, specially different people (not exactly racism, its more xenophobia). People in Spain often reject innovation at every level, even if the changes are for their best interest, they would not easily accept them. This was originated by dictatorship, 40 years ago, in Spain everybody had to behave the same (or at least pretend to) as “difference” implied a threat to the system. The change that I would like to see in Spain is also a matter of EDUCATION and would take a series of generations to become a success.

I would completely restructure the educational system in America. I'd do away with standardized testing, give teachers a raise, reintegrate the arts and creativity and encourage more independent learning projects. Just for starters.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
