The YouTube video above shows a solution to technology that has been known to man for quite awhile. Most people who go camping, know the survival skill of boiling water and catching the vapor on plastic and allowing it to drip down into a cup for drinking.
The only problem has been issues with the amount of power needed to make this work on a portable level. It seems like this may be the solution. If $2000 can give clean water to a wh*** village, then sign me up!
I would join any non-profit in raising funds to get this into community. Every $2000 raised could provide water to hundreds of people.
It makes me sick that I can go into my kitchen and flip a switch for pure, safe, water. Yet, on the other side of the world, someone's child just died due to lack or clean water.
Even the finical opportunities exist here for a company to sell such technology. I believe a possible labor exchange operation could be set up by a company or non-profit creating both a better community and economy. Whereas water would be provided in exchange for simple labor that helps improve local infrastructure. Digging sewers & collecting garbage are examples of labor that could be exchanged for clean water. A small amount of work by each would add up and increase the overall quality of the entire community.
This is a real opportunity for anyone wanting to create real change in the poorest of communities.
