ACT 6 - Our School's Project For Empowering Women

Hello everyone,
I apologize for not having made a blog post in the past few days. I spent the start of my week (Monday to now, Wednesday) finishing recording the tracks on the album I'm producing. I only have a small amount left to do tomorrow and then I'll be 100% done. Then theres mixing and mastering; I'll be doing mixing myself, and I'll pass the mastering on to a recording engineer.

Anyways, that's besides the point. I'm here to explain what I'm doing now to help empowering women. And it just so happens that our school had an assembly today on domestic abuse. Even though it lasted 2 hours, I would have normally been bored out of my mind, this year, it radically changed my perspective. I didn't even expect it. I think it was mostly due to the fact that some people from my school came up and admitted some form of abuse they've experienced in their life. To be frank, I find that getting in front of 300+ students and admitting that they were abused as a child is pure courage. I couldn't do anything of that extend.

The point of the rally/assembly is that there's going to be a walk with the group "Hearts in Harmony", directly translated from "Coeurs en Choeur". The walk is 8 kilometers, and before walking you have to raise money (25$ Canadian) in order to be given permission to go. This is a great opportunity to empower women, because all the money goes directly to "Women's Place". For those who don't know what "Women's Place" is, it's a place where abused women and children can go to if they are trying to get away from abusive parents.

Today, I fully understood the importance of Women's Place because I fully understood the extend as to how much abuse there is, even in a developed country such as Canada.

So, what I'm doing to help empower women.
- I bought a ticket to a school dance for the same cause (Women's Place). However, I won't be going because I'm already busy tomorrow night.
- I plan on buying a T-shirt of "Hearts in Harmony", mostly as a reminder of High School on top on the revenue going to Women's Place.
- I'm also planning to attend and play music for the walk itself. I will be raising money as well. I'll probably throw in a twenty dollar bill, and ask family members to pitch in.

The walk is on the 14th of May, so past EVOKATION day. However, I can leave a follow up on one of the follow -up EVOKE websites.

Send me the links to your posts of the same mission.

Nice post. I'm not even close to being old enough to formally educate others, so I'm sticking to giving money for now. Unfortunately, through money around doesn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
