So I decided to re-watch "Zeitgeist: Addendum", although I've recently received a comment about it that it was childish and outdated. Oh well.
I was halfway through and I caught something that could really work. So I decided to revisit this ACT and post what I have learned.
Here's the link to the entire movie, but I'll be calling out the parts in which they take place. I might be regurgitating a lot, so bear with me.
The two most known sustainable energy forms are known as solar power and wind power. And many people underestimate the power of both.
Solar Power (1:17:42)
There is so much power in the sun that one hour at high noon has more power than the entire planet uses up in one year. We could sustain power for the entire planet forever if we could capture 0.01% of the energy the sun gave off. We only need to use technologies to match the amount of solar power that is available to us, which is virtually infinite.
Wind Power (1:18:18)
If we can fully integrate this technology in just 3 of the 50 states of the United States of America, we can power the entire nation (US Department of Energy, 2007).
Here are some more types of energy that are not very conventional, but prove to be super effective.
Tidal Power (1:18:44)
This energy cultivation can be achieved by placing turbines very much like wind turbines deep in the water facing the flow of water. This will provide energy for an infinite amount of time, seeing that tides are and will always continue. The United Kingdom is considering this form of energy, having concluded that there are 42 available spots in the water surrounding them, and they could get as much as 34% of all their power coming from tides.
Wave Power (1:19:06)
Much like Tidal power, there is a cultivation of energy on the surface of water. There is a possibility of 84,000 Tera watt/Hour (84 000 * 10^12 Watts) across the entire world, which so happens to about to half the planet's power usage.
These four energy grabbers, if used efficiently, can fuel the world forever. There would be no more need for fuel, coal, hydrogen, or other futile energy forms that not only pollute our planet, but also require energy to activate, aggravating the situation further.
But this technology surpa**** all of these methods put together.
Geothermal Power (1:19:51)
Achieved through "heat mining" and an addition of water, huge amounts of energy can be pulled out of the ground. It was found in 2006 that 13 000 Zeta Joules (one Zeta Joule is 1000000000000000000000 Joules) are contained in the Earth. We can potential farm two thousand of these Zeta Joules if we use correct technologies. Here's the kicker; the entire planet only uses HALF A ZETA JOULE a year. That means 4000 hours of power can be achieved by itself. Since the planet renews its heat constantly, there really is no end to the power.
The most beautiful thing is that hopefully, this energy comes without a price tag.
