A crash course in changing the world.

by the time 2020 comes around, the human race has collectively realized that in order to truly be civilized, all manners of social oppression had to come to an end.

it started with the collapse of the monetary system. the currencies of several countries began to plummet in value because they were so far in debt, that they could not even make the interest payments on their deficits. first, the economies of individual countries crumbled, but then the problem became global. one by one, all countries were sucked into the vortex. it was inevitable. there was not enough money in the world to pay off the interest that had acc**ulated on all the worlds debt. it was at this time that the common people realized that they had been fooled into thinking that they were free citizens in free countries. that in fact, their countries, and even their own personal lives, had been owned and controlled by private banking firms and their agendas.

the initial reaction was to abolish private banks and the practice of charging interest on money. the value of each countries currency was based on the resources that country possessed. however, it soon became clear that so long as society revolved around money, corruption found a way to seep in. people in power could be bought. corporations could manipulate governments. poor environmental practices continued in order for companies to make profits. and although some countries thrived, others were withering away.

with the realizations made during the initial monetary collapse still fresh in the minds of the people, public protests were starting in all countries. the people were not going to stand for another round of corruption. it was at this point that "the zeitgeist movement" began getting global mass media attention. "the zeitgeist movement" presented another option for the world. a world that encouraged every aspect of human activity to be at the pinnacle of efficiency and performance. a world that offered true freedom to every person. and it was all done without money. in fact, money was obsolete in the society that "the zeitgeist movement" envisioned. a grassroots movement of zeitgeist enthusiasts had already been working towards the goals of "designing" the future, but as public support of the zeitgeist ideals grew, the movement suddenly began receiving official support from governments around the world.

immediately, teams of people were designing and building ultra efficient and clean sources of energy that could be duplicated in any region of the world. zeitgeist groups in every country were building these facilities everywhere, making energy so abundant, that there was no need to fight over it any more.
this also lead to the development of new technologies that made it possible to grow abundant amounts of food for every region of the earth. new manufacturing techniques were developed, and an automated production line made comfortable housing that was distributed all around the world, available to anyone that needed it. shelter became so abundant that every person on earth had a warm, dry, place to sleep at night. world hunger became a thing of the past. fossil fuels became obsolete. crime was drastically being reduced.

the idea of making resources totally abundant and available to all people began catching on. new advancements in technology made for totally automated production that required almost no maintenance, and no workers were required to do boring brainless jobs. because people had access to almost any resource they could want, their time was freed up to pursue their dreams, contribute to the advancement of technology for the good of mankind, or focus on raising their families.

world wide super-sonic transport was developed and was made available to everyone. anyone could do anything, anywhere they wanted, and still be home in time for supper.

mankind now lives in harmony with nature. there is no more smog, polluted water, clearcuts, or oil spills. the brightest minds and most skilled troubleshooters are treated to celebrity status. there are no more lawyers, bankers, stockbrokers, lobbyists, or politicians. society is constantly progressing for the betterment of all people, and the earth. the future is limitless!

And the world lived happily ever after, chasing butterflies through the fields and meadows... the end.

Hey thanks, I think we may have something in common! On a more serious note, the "zeitgeist movement" which is embedded in conspiracy theories including that the US government was culpable for the 9/11 attacks, is based on a plethora of assumptions, to the point where it's not so much of a "plan for the future" as it is a "belief for the future", much like a religion.

the 9/11 conspiracy presented in the first zeitgeist movie is definitely speculation and can't be taken as fact. i think that the last i heard on the topic, they had abandoned the argument because it can't be proven. but it can't exactly be denied either. whatever. the point is still that government is corrupt and that IS a fact. the first movie is meant to be thought provoking, the second lays out an idea for a basic framework of a future resource based economy.

i hear you on the "belief for the future", but comparing it to religion is a stretch. its a theory based on scientific evidence, not blind faith in mystical stories. nor is the zeitgeist movement designed to enslave, control, or pacify the mass public. however, jacque fresco is an engineer, and in my experience engineers rarely have the ability to understand real-world obstacles that have to be overcome in order to make things work. however, jacque and the zeitgeist movement are not trying to feed their egos, and they are not motivated by profit. that is a recipe that practical people like me can work with. a transition to a resource based economy would be riddled with unforeseen real-wold problems, but if the people at the wheel actually listen to the people troubleshooting the problems on the ground, anything is possible. and so far, i havn't heard anyone else come up with a better plan.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
