I decided for Midwives Deliver – And Not Only Babies.
I think that these is the first important step in each little live – what will the chance of clean water, healthy food and education use, when the children die?
Doctors are often too expensive for the people-and often they are also afraid of them. That’s easy to understand. Doctors are doing a lot of things which are unknowable for the people, especially cause of the big role of superstition which often dominates the belief and habits of the people.
Midwives instead have a high reputation in most of the countries. They are considered as prudent at the most of African cultures. So most of the women who need help for the birth will have more trust in the midwives than in a doctor.

Some years ago a film was made. Midwives – a global perspective on childbirth. It is about 1 hour long and it shows 17 midwives all over the world and they talk about the different problems they have: less money, hygiene, superstition but also the problem of temporary fashions in high developed countries. But midwives also can do more than midwifery. All women of the world have one point in common, that makes them more peaceful and open to others than men for me: their children. I think that the binding between mother and child is so special, that it can build a bridge over each cultural or religious problem. As we all know, Israel and Pakistan have very big conflicts. There are too much dead persons, hate, anger and tears on both sides. So it seems to be impossible to find a peaceful solution. But not for these two women: two midwives, one from Israel and one from Pakistan, work together and show that no hate can be deep enough to overbear it with the love to the children.
I think that projects like this will have more influence over the two nations than policy can ever have.

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
