Hey folks,
Now for what I am really good at: teaching. I want to show you how to create a really cheap and neat meal with a very low budget, for your wh*** family.
I have been interested for a while now in producing cheap food, as I wondered how people do it who live on nothing but social security money. That's less than EUR 400 in total. For food our government assigns about EUR 80. That's about EUR 2.60 a day. Let's set aside .60 for drinks and there's only EUR 2 left, even for Westerners.
We need 1 pound of noodles (EUR 0.69) and one can of hungarian meat soup, available at the local discounter for EUR .49. That's enough for two people, so it totals about 60 cents for a single person, regarding that production costs like electricity are paid for within rent (or general living expense budget).
So. Cook the noodles until their fine and get rid of the water. Fill in the can soup mix it. The temperature difference will make it eatable instantly if you mixed well.
This meal provides a good taste and lots of energy from the noodles. You also get important meat-related stuff as the soup contains several fats and meats and vegetables. If you consider having this two times a week you could probably lower your budget.
If someone got interested we could try and develop a wh***-week-meal-plan for the poor in our Western societies that takes into account a minimum budget as well as a healthy and balanced feeding.
What do you think of it?
As I read and agreed with one of the posts it's probably not giving someone the seeds to grow a tomato plant but to educate people how to eat sustainably facing a tight budget. At least that's what I liked to contribute.
