Friday nights have been rough the past couple months, but spring is starting to spring, and shall soon be sprung. The apple trees are starting to bloom, and the cherry tree in the front yard is, too.
The solar garden in the back lasted the winter, so it's rice and tomato paste, again, this Friday. It's rough, but it's healthy, ya know?
The cats are sick of it, but that's the way it goes. We're all a bit skinny, you know? gaunt, maybe, even?
The kitchen smells like garlic, though that savoriness is a lie. Wild garlic hasn't got the bulbs like old fashioned store bought garlic does, but we like the smell. And none of us has ever sparkled, so I think we're okay.
Oh goodness. If you're reading this, I apologize for the early naughts joke, just then. I'm old, and in my youth, the vampires were mostly gay, and couldn't cross running water or touch garlic. Then, in my midlife, they sparkled and pedophile'd. Thus the mixed icon joke above. And two paragraphs of silliness.
Clearly I need to eat something.
Appetizers will be some leek soup we unfroze the other day, but didn't get around to cooking. No matter what, Leeks always look so fresh!
And dessert? Canned Peaches! We canned them off the tree last year, and we horded them nicely, and now the weather's turning warm again, delighting in one of the two cans seems appropriate. With any luck the weather will change and we'll be able to eat them on the front porch, lounged in our hammock!
