... I wonder what Life on Earth will be like in ten years.
With climate change actively changing our lives, and pollution ever-increasingly destroying our only habitat, I often wonder what Earth will look like in ten years.
If things were to go my way, the world would be very different. There would not simply be better resource management, and activists as well as politicians keen to actually bring us further as a specie rather than just working on their own agendas. In an ideal world we would all work together rather than compete against one another. In an ideal world we would foster innovation, creativity, co-operation and enjoyment at school level, rather than beat children down with static pieces of information.
In an ideal world, I wouldn't have to wonder what conditions will be left for humans on Earth in ten years. But for now, I will consider our world ideal, for it is what we have and it is where we live and there is no other option than to cherish it as best as we can as it is.
I hope to be able to continue learning how to better understand our specie and to figure out ways to help us move beyond our current shortcomings and terrible patterns of self-destruction. I hope that in ten years I will be working, as I have been, amongst those that are at the margins of the "western" world. Perhaps as an anthropologist, perhaps as a photographer or a journalist, I'll be doing my best to foster knowledge sharing for as long as I am able to, hopefully flourishing in that domain, and able to respond to any calls that may come my way to help solve whatever problems may need innovative approaches...
