In 2020, I will be 33 years old. I will have co-founded a successful technology startup and will be a consultant and mentor to other tech companies and young startups outside of Silicon Valley, especially those founded by women. My specialties will be in user interface design and furiously scrubbing buzzword-soaked machismo from the stereotypes of entrepreneurship. I'll travel lots, for work and for fun, but my home base will be West Philly.
Besides my entrepreneurial, technology, and design work, I will also be active in the Philadelphia local food and greenspace movements. By helping community garden groups take over abandoned lots; promoting container, balcony, and other forms of low-maintenance urban gardening; emphasizing fruit trees and other perennial food plants; helping others run low-cost canning and preserving cla****; and expanding on Philly's already-impressive initiatives to get fresh, cheap produce into poor neighborhoods, I will have helped make Philadelphia one of the literally greenest, most food-independent cities in the world.
In my townhouse yard I'll have blueberry bushes, lilacs, and basil. Among others. Someday I'll teach my babies to tend their own plots.
