A crash course in changing the world.
In Australia [where I live] food security is rarely an issue. From time to time water might be contaminated for a limited amount of time, but purified water is always near at hand.
No. Where I live there are almost no food security issues. Well; that's what we are meant to think. However, the way I see it, food security in Australia is more of an issue than one might think.
Australia's biggest threat? Fast Food.
Fast food is more of an issue due to the fact millions of people every day consume the food without second thoughts, dismissing any insecurities that hover around the controversial preparation of the food.
Most of you would be aware of the crisis around the mad cow disease (especially in America). Cattle are fed ground up bone and other such items which were once other cows. Happy Feeders (I could be wrong, but I think this is the one), in America, Have cattle running around in their own waste. The waste the cattle produce is actually toxic, illness becoming a huge issue. Mad cow disease, however, is an even bigger worry.
If one digests a contaminated peice of meat then the mad cow disease transfers itself to you and becomes the human form. The disease could happen up to 15 years after the bad meat was eaten. I just want to point out this will eat away at your brain. Literally.
But other issueas also arise. Antibiotics resistance can become an issue during the treatment of bacterial diseases. There are simply so many antibiotics pumped into the feed that eventually we run the risk of becoming antibiotics resistant. In turn, we are creating a great many resistant diseases and we are getting no stronger, whereas the bacteria are.
Beside the point, the chemicals sprayed on the plants which then become our food cannot possibly be healthy.
Know what you eat before you eat it. Be safe.
