A crash course in changing the world.
Last week, the Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking, or "GIFT," set up a walk-ing exhibit in Union Square. Shaped like a giant gift box, this display is meant to raise awareness about Human Trafficking around the world. GIFT members hoped that the box would draw even more attention due to the influx of Super Bowl fans in the area.
Coincidentally, the Polaris Project and Clear Channel Outdoor teamed up for a similar campaign that week. This campaign featured digital spots across Herald Square and Times Square (known as "Super Bowl Alley"). There were also billboards featuring the current victims and statistics of human trafficking.
