My favorite secret is "What you have matters more than what you lack". If you don't have something, sitting around worrying about it isn't going to help solve whatever problem you're facing. In fact it wastes time that you could be using to figure out a solution with the materials/skills/knowledge that you do possess.
An area where this secret stands out to me is rock climbing, specifically bouldering. I do the majority of my climbing with my friend Darren. He and I both climb at about the same difficulty level, but our climbing skill sets are quite different. He excels at slow controlled technical movements, whereas my specialty is powerful dynamic movements. So when we are faced with a climbing problem I can't be worrying about how I can't do some of the technical moves he can, I have to think about using my own style.
So what do I have when it comes to being a social innovator? I know I have the desire to help, and skills that could be helpful. We all do.
