A crash course in changing the world.
In Germany one might think that food security is not such a big problem. Indeed hunger is not that obvious in developed countries. Nevertheless even our society has to face food security problems. In my hometown (Bad Neustadt, Bavaria) we therefore have a subsidiary from an institution called "Die Tafel" (Die Tafel). This institution collects surplus goods and distributes them to people in need. That this is a necessary organization even for a town with about 16.000 inhabitants (yes, it is SMALL) was shown by the local business school. In 2010 they organized an appeal for donations which was really successful. The distribution to local people in need can be seen in their movie about the campaign:

I like this campaign a lot. Pupils get an idea about food security and food problems and get to know that this is not only a problem of third world countries. This campaign points out, that you do not always have to travel to Africa to fight for food security. I also like it because the pupils not only get something taught but are encouraged to solve the problem. It is also a good example which shows that everyone can change something.
