A crash course in changing the world.
I don't think that teaching a single person to grow food is an ideal solution for this "act" mission. For someone in a teaching position (like myself) it is better to, as suggested in one of the tips from one of the first missions, "use what you have", and what I have is a talent for teaching and influencing minds. Instead of going about the traditional "I helped someone" route, I helped my students learn how to help themselves.
Even though I make a relatively acceptable living with my wife, most of our students to not. My wife teaches in a local middle school and I teach at a local post-secondary institution that caters mostly to low-income and disadvantaged students. To accomplish this mission I convinced my wife to teach me how to teach science (a daunting task, no doubt, as I am more of a language and literature kind of person) and I gave my students a week long crash course on global warming, the effects on food, and asked them to come up with solutions on how to combat the coming food crisis. Their presentations are due next week, and I'm looking forward to what they will say.
