Poverty from: http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/how-to-stop-poverty-but-ill

While Dan has put in many valid statements I believe that something else can be said. One of my teachers had a cousin who was very impoverished. Even though he had inherited most of the estate but he did not wish to do anything. It proves that it is mind over matter, or in this case money. To stay in a state that is not impoverished one must first and foremost want to earn a living. This state of mind may be brought on by many things such as substance abuse, and trauma.
Other places such as Calgary during the oil boom had tons of people earning more money than the average person and living on the streets because they could not afford housing. To the average person they aren't impoverished. They're right! They aren't impoverished, they're homeless. There is a big difference. I I could easily use $10 and spend it all on caffeine or McDonald's and not sleep in a bed. Again to fight poverty is to fight against what many people think. Many believe that if a homeless person looks for a job that they used to be on drugs. The sad fact is that is true for most people not in third world countries. We look at Africa and yet we avoid the problems on our own doorstep. Caffeine is a drug, fat and sugar in high quantities have the same affect as heroin. I like that you are rooting out these problems but what makes people impoverished isn't always black and white. We can't say this happened to this person so... because it is different for everyone. You can't define the causes of poverty the only thing you can do is prevent as many of them as possible. It is like shooting a rifle at a deer in a blindfold with headphones on listening to Lady Gaga, it's impossible, for now. You can hit the target and it is easier if you do it on a massive scale with 100 dear and are listening to some smooth jazz.
When everyone tries to aim for a single goal achieving that goal becomes easier. If you know what your aiming for it is even easier. One of the best organizations aiming to fight poverty (including this wh*** food security issue (tying it in with evoke)) os the Salvation Army. This goes back to charity though, they give people food without giving them jobs to earn food, while this is a good start this will never solve the problem. A great way to solve this problem (heard it in the news a while back) was in Central America where those who could not get food were given rabbits to sell at a market, some for food, some to make a living.

I have to agree, the idea in itself is completely and utterly silly (though I don't see how the change in music could help you shoot deer when you're blindfolded anyway). Admittedly I was spamming out blog posts and had urgently wanted to try the wh*** "user community" thing.. :(

However I do think we can at least fix certain degrees of poverty (the world bank would define that as "the state of living on less than $2 a day" (Which I integrated into this blog post)), such as drug addictions and whatnot.

Problems in third-world countries being fixed to some degree by microfinancing organizations like Kiva. But yes, we can't solve it all with a snap of our fingers.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
