A crash course in changing the world.
I talked about a resilience plan of our city with my some of my friends and colleagues at work and with my family. No one has ever heard about any kind of resilience plan for Braunschweig.
It is difficult to imagine what type of problems Braunschweig needs to face in the future that really need a resilience plan.
In my opinion Braunschweig should improve the infrastructure to face the continous growth. Furthermore they could provide a better food supply for the citizens and also in case of an emergency. Perhaps they could also lower the social diversities between the different urban districts.
I guess that most cities don't have a resilience plan until they really need one. Nobody takes time to think about what could happen as long as nothing urgent has happend or the likelihood for that is just too low.
Lately (05/10/2012) there has been a lecture in Braunschweig about the combination of sustainability and growth. Whether it is possible to combine these two or not. But I haven't visited the lecture so I don't know about the conclusion.
I googled for all the other keywords that have been mentioned in the missions objective, but I couldn't find any more information about a resilience plan for Braunschweig.
Perhaps there is a resilience plan that they didn't publish yet, but I doubt it.
