Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Beginning of Russian Pandemic, 2011, Brainstorm between Michele and I:

Michele: panicked people get carelessme: Lets create cla**** for how to make a phone tree and spread the through the countryside by using Ushahidi
Michele: ok. those are useful, but remember to have bounce back links in case someone remote can't answer because in distress
me: Agreed
Who can we start with?
Someone has to start teaching
Michele: will be entire country?
or just one city/rural area?
me: Its already in the major cities (wink)
Michele: ok, but those with must teach those without.
me: We need to get the word out to the country side. Lets mobilize using face book.
Michele: start in Vladivostok, teachers to inland to train community leaders and youth guides.
facebook is good. also I think universities have web links.
so can "big brother/big sister" universities with a 'family' of lower-tier schools.
me: Ok, you contact some university leaders, I will contact some students, and we will meet Michele: ok. Also, medical depts of each region contact med depts in universities, which should contact medical personnel on ground incountryside. The med workers handle elderly, special needs, etc. Schhead/principals coordinate with town officials, pass knowledge along
via phone tree.
me: sounds good, very organic, and students can fill in the gaps. drive, deliver goods to sick people
Michele: yes. and oversee volunteering for food prep, too. I thought (for mine, would work in Russia too) that restaurants should agree to prep food inevent of quarantines, for clean prep/delivery; stores should agree topost available goods, anticipated delivery of new, in order to quellpanic buying/hoarding;
and if/when any one/group is quarantined, the food/water issue is taken care of... can also use community center/school kitchens for group foodprep (usually stainless steel/sterile)
because no one remembers food borne illness exacerbates any bio hazard there is.
water too.
me: Lets make it happen!
