EVOKE has gotten me thinking about a number of issues to do with saving the world and social innovation, and it's opened some basic questions. I'd like to see what you come up with, dear agents.
Is it possible to save the world? Have we gone too far? Are there enough people that want the world to be a better place to make it so?
What would be the "win" conditions?
Is it the world that needs to be saved, or are we talking about saving the human race? (i. e. I think one of the most expedient ways to save the planet would be to wipe out the human race and everything we've built, but I personally feel like a large percentage of the human population surviving should be a "win" condition. I'm asking if we are saving the planet to save ourselves and what other perspectives are out there)
Finally, given infinite resources - money, political power, raw materials et all - how do we save it? In an ideal situation, where literally you had anything you could wish and the current world is the situation, how specifically would you save the world?
(For this last one, pick a problem (like women's rights) and describe how you would effect change (set up an equivalent of the pink sari gang everywhere -
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7068875.stm - I know that's not terribly detailed, but perhaps you get the idea?)
I hope some people look at this. I'm really curious about what people come up with.
Thank You ^_^
