As I've said in some of my missions and quests (and maybe a few other places), I'm a youth services librarian, ergo, I've usually got my head in a book or two (or three or four....). Anywho, I came across a book (written for teenagers, but that doesn't mean people of different ages -older or younger - can't enjoy it) that I thought most of the agents here might appreciate...
The book I want to introduce you to is "The boy who harnessed the wind" by William Kamkwamba.
To give you all a brief synopsis, this is the story of a young man in Africa who survives a famine, has to drop out of school because his family can't afford its fees, ends up finding some books on science at the library, which then leads him to deciding to make a windmill to create electricity for his family using a bunch of random parts including a cob of corn, bicycle parts, and a few nails.
To top it all off, this work of fiction, is actually a fictionalization of a true story, starting a young African man named William Kamkwamba who did all these things very successfully and has achieved world recognition for his efforts.
So take a look - read the book, and check out what else William is doing:
