Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

The Kenyan government had introduced an ingenious way in 2008 to fight youth unemployment through the Kazi Kwa Vijana(KKV) program- this is a
Swahili word for jobs for the youth-which aimed at providing jobs for
300,000 unemployed youth. This model has not being sustainable mainly
due to corruption among the implementers and in sufficient funding both from donors and government.
The KKV model is build upon major infrastructure development
they include: road maintenance, water harvesting, small-scale water
supply and sanitation,
and
waste/garbage collection. Sustainability of the project through
adequate financing will ensure greater ownership and participation of
youths.

Currently the project has hit a snag over different issues that arose, hopefully it will get back on track(which I know it will)as we head towards the campaing period.

I'm from such a different part of the world... what Ideas might you have to fight corruption among those who are supposed to implement projects to help others.

@Jane SO far the agency concerned with fighting corruption has taken files to the AG for legal proceeding to be open, also individuals through their member of parliament have passed censure motions against Minister who head ministries that are concerned till thorough investigations are concluded.

Is there any kind of background check done on people who are involved in the program, both volunteers and participants? It may not screen out everyone who is involved in corruption, but it's a start. And, yes, it would cost money to do upfront so that's another issue.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
