Adam Grosser is working on creating a sustainable refrigerator which essentially works without electricity. Not only does this cut down on the energy usage of countries which heavily rely upon household refrigerators, but this creates the possibility of extending refrigeration technology to societies lacking electricity. This has me thinking: maybe the idea shouldn't only be to find creative energy sources, but instead we should split our energies to improving non-electric technologies. Yes, electricity is relatively sustainable if we come up with effective solutions such as wind-mills and hydro-turbines, but what if we can get away from electricity and fossil fuels entirely for more technologies?
