Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

The Short Story I wrote for the new Quest.

The clock says 6 a.m., dammit I overslept again. Today is an important day after all, I am going to meet with other Evokers for the first time since Urgent Evoke had started. It was about a year ago this day, we agreed after all the discussion was over we would finally meet up to combine our thoughts into one great collaboration of atoms. A sacrifice this big has never been made before, all these great minds giving up everything to pursue the causes we had all once just talked about. I am going to see all those people who had replied to my blogs, added me as a friend, and contributed their own point of views to my ideas. One look outside and it reminds me that even though as much as you want to change something, it just seems impossible. Stephen Hawking had sparked the idea of space conquest many years ago and we are just starting to realise this now. The sun is coming out now, it looks as if a bright fire had just sparked from the earth below. We're going to take the ideas we thought of and together we're going to start a new life, a new world, and a new era of the human race built upon those principles we thought so hard about. It's too bad we could not save our current world, some people say despite all the changes we made, it was inevitable, just a cycle which had reached its end. Others blame the over consumption and industrialization that we had grown to love as a society. Regardless, we venture forth now to reach our new home. I am divided into the Lebanon group; everyone was put into a group by their country of origin and then borded the massive ships. Not everyone however wanted to embark on this journey. Many stayed on Earth, thinking it is the only natural thing to do. Eventually they will have to revert to the most basic forms of living, organize small tribes and fend off the land. Everything on the surface was going to be wiped out as a plan to "restart" the Earth's life cycle. We had figured out the only way to save the Earth was to reverse everything we had done to it, of course the people who chose to stay will be safe underground while the transformation occurs, but after that a process will begin from when the first tool using Neanderthals started to walk the Earth. Strategically placed throughout the landscape are instructions for the next generation of Humans. Some question that his had been done before and books such as The Bible and the The Qur'an are examples of instructions left behind. Hopefully we got it right this time. My numbers being called now, time to go into the cryo-chamber to await this "new home".

2349 years later, 132 light years from Eearth....

"Mr. Skaf? Hello? Are you awake? You're motor functions should respond any time now but if you're interested you can open your eyes and see our new Planet, Erda!", said one of the white figures.

It took me a few minutes, but when I opened my eyes it was "Astonishing...."

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
