Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Vision: Keep a look out for other challenges or new solutions all the time.

Indeed, life is full of challenges and some might think why we need to look for other challenges and solutions if we have them already? I believe people who think this way may not succeed in long term, because without continuous learning one day you stop develop yourself and will stuck in one place. Your solutions which seemed to be brightest decisions might turn to mistakes and losses. Being challenged with new things you keep growing mentally, emotionally and experience and knowledge gained through each new challenge and task will make you the person "whom the world waited anxiously" to solve problems.
Yes, there might be one perfect solution for the problem, but it is the best solution for that period of time, not for afterward. If our ancestors believed that the only way to dig a h*** was using small utensils, nowadays we might not have even seen new technologies. Only due to eagerness for new solution and challenge made and can make the world best place to live.
......Studying in post soviet and western country I can understand why there is much difference between East and West in terms of development. Simple example can be given from post soviet university where teachers say to students: "I know everything. So I know the solution and here is solution" and western university where teachers say: "I have experience in this, but I really love to listen to your ideas. There might be better solutions". Comparing these two situations, my dear friends, please, answer to the question, "which way is more challenging for you?". For me...it is western way. Because following that way I know I can learn new things and I can think and find solution myself. Thus, I call all generations to continuous learning and looking for new challenges and solutions.

I know what you mean, but I would like to say that when you divide your vision to 'Western' and 'Eastern' you unconsciously may limit your view point. I agree about Soviet rule and I believe it has very huge impact even in today's lives. However, today the East - Vostok , today is totally different. Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Singapore, Indonesia. Malaysia and so on, these countries are already developed their own way of thinking and adapting to the problems, so each country and even each person should have own vision and of course gradually expand it for better ends. In brief, I mean that I appreciate your challenge to search for alternatives, and I want you to find not solutions to the problem first but the your own vision of it. I think it is important how do we understand a problem, how do we see it in reality, so after clear definition of problem we can search as you said better solutions not same solution we used yesterday.

yes, you are right Yahkhyo, east is different nowadays. My vision is there are always better ways and decisions if you want it. Admit it that most changes in East countries such as Singapore and Japan were due to western graduates of that countries. But for sure, I do not generalize that all Eastern thing is nonsense and West is development, nowadays these countries have best education system and best technology. They just were able to understand that there are something to take from West and something to develop on their own.

Good point Sholpan, i really liked what you wrote especially because it gives personal opinions but leave a lot of spots to the readers to ponder about what you're meaning. What I think is just that now the problem in the occidental countries is to determine what is the right solution and especially to be ready to pay the price to apply the solution. Of course we are talking about the world health and future and as we know, we already got at the point where if we wanna save our future we need to understand that many things in the world wide enviroment politic have to change and as consequence the world equilibrium and assect might change because we all know how much enviroment politics of the different nations are strongly related to economical politics. So (and this is my suggestion as mentor), reading in your profile that you have good diplomatic skills and some exepriences, try to imagine how you would convince an industrialized country (if you want you might also pick the name of an existing country) to sign in the Kyoto Treat and to reduce its CO2 emissions (for sure to do it they would need to reduce some industrial activity, reviewing country laws about enviroment and so on...).

Thanks Nad,
Yes, that's really important issue you raised. The US is consuming much more products than other parts of the world, but still has not signed Kyoto Treat. It is unfair towards other countries that US making more than half pollution and other nations need to suffer from it. It is already time for them to understand that not much time left for not taking any measures to save the Earth. Melting glaciers, frequent tsunamis and ice breaking in Arctic are serious processes happening due to global warming. I think the problem for not signing Kyoto is tightly because of interests of some powers, such as oil monsters, who will be hardly affected if treat would come into force in US. The only solution I can see for the problem is raising awareness of environmental problems among common people. As politicians will not do anything, initiative and requirement for signing treat should come from bottom. The problem is many people do not about the environmental problems very much, and even they know they do not care about it, as disasters seem to happen in far future. However, it is wrong, because bad things already happening in the world. My suggestion:
Every day short movies, doc**entary films and ads about environmental problems and how to decrease them should be shown on TVs, radios and newspapers, so that people start to think about it seriously. And ultimately, they will demand from Government to apply measures to save the world, Earth, for their children.
We know that Starbucks and McDonalds became famous for ads, marketing and nowadays worldwide known brands, why not to do the same for environmental problems. Put posters, give information in high schools, kindergartens and TVs, then it will stay in people's mind and people will do something in order to make their own small contribution to save the world.

I agree with you that it seems to me that education about these issues has led to a great misunderstanding about what is important. America wants to be seen as a leader in the global environment but it tends to seem more and more that many of my fellow Americans have misinterpreted this to mean that other nations should FOLLOW US. (No punn intended)
It is frustrating for me to see people in my country take such offense to the idea that we aren't perfect. I want to attribute this to a fear that if our country is not perfect in every way that the uncertainty would destroy a lot of citizens who are willing to blindly follow, because it is easier.
I'd like to compare it a child finding out that their parents are some indestructible, infallible, super beings. This can shake the foundations of a child at first, but eventually the growth they experience in maturing through this is heavily defines who they are. It is a sign of the transference of responsibility. I believe that if you know something that you participate in is broken, then you share the responsibility to fix it. I think this scares many people in many countries that have enough to worry about with just putting food on the table, but I agree that education about options and solutions to these problems could lessen this strain and maybe give people more confidence in making a change.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
