Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

World 2.0

Narrator: When EVOKE was exposed by Alpha, Alchemy knew the Network's curtain will be unveiled anytime soon. The fat lady has sung. It's cast, either awaiting applause, encores...or boos, and rotten tomatoes. EVOKE was able to function because of its secrecy. Now, more than ever, the show must go on...

Quezon City, Philippines

Carden: More and more children are being affected by Dengue...the hospitals are being overwhelmed, we're running out of donated blood to go about...and we're not even in the rainy season yet!

Cipher: Relax, Carden, I know this place means a lot to you. We'll find a way to contain this...

Carden: Ever since the Network was exposed, it's been harder to move about. All this spotlight's doing is cast a shadow the media can follow.

Cipher: ....

Eureka: We've found a Dengue Hot Spot! It's a nearby school. Good thing it's summer when there are no cla****. A lot of students could have been bitten by mosquitoes here. I'm reporting it to the Dengue Crowdmap....local authorities are on their way.

Alchemy: Good job, Eureka. Ember, any idea what's the best way to disseminate information on how to prevent the spread of Dengue?

Ember: Hmm...since the most vulnerable age group are school age children, I suggest including lectures in school focused on dengue.

Carden: Dengue is now occurring all year round. Teaching it in school might not be enough...We need a platform that children can access all the time.

Cipher: Carden aren't social networks popular here? Maybe we can utilize some of the existing social networks to learn more about the disease

Alchemy: Good thinking Quinn. Dengue is actually preventable so long as we disrupt the vector's breeding grounds like stagnant waters. Public Health Education is the key.

Carden: We can also do a Serious Game about Dengue which children can play and at the same time learn about the virus.

Alchemy: Good idea, Carden. But how can we create a video game on such short notice?

Carden: There are a lot of outsourced game companies in the area. We can make the code open source and verify the accuracy of the game with an infectious disease specialist...I can contact some of my friends down at the University.

Alchemy: Copy, Agent Carden. Bring Quinn with you. He might do some magic with the private companies.

Carden: Roger.

Alchemy: Cipher, Ember, Eureka, we'll need to create a dark blog where people can download the serious game. It might also be good to distribute Distros to the public

Eureka: We can do something like the freedom toaster

Alchemy: Exactly, Eureka. Update me on the mission once you are done. Alchemy out.

Narrator: In the shadows...

Alpha: So this is EVOKE. This will be easier than I expected...

Learn: Find out more about Elearning 2.0 and Social Learning and how it can revolutionize how we learn

Act: Create you're own note or blog in an existing social network about a health topic you think will help millions. For extra credit, create a serious game that will tackle a health issue (from smoking to rabies) that could spark a behavior change of a person.

Imagine: When will Jane McGonigal's vision of a game developer winning the nobel prize happen? What will the game be about? How did it impact the real world?

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
