A crash course in changing the world.
As I learned about the problems of money across the globe, I felt Mahila Milan could be the next innovation across the globe for credit. Mahila Milan is a credit scheme focussed on the women in poverty in Mumbai in India. It was created in the 1980s to work against the government rule that said government could destroy the shacks on the sides of the road. At first it was an organization to work against the government, but it turned into a way for the "pavement dwellers" to work with the government. It helps the homeless make claim to vacant land and get homeless into their own homes. Now it is a network of poor women that manage money and savings to help "pavement dwellers." This network could revolutionize the world economy of the poor. It creates credit for extremely poor people. It creates opportunity for development of a better life.
