A crash course in changing the world.
Recently I have started looking to new Web2.0 education options for my Evokation. Joined a few education related nings, and learned that Buddypress, Webs.com, and are all ways to create a network, without to much pain. Conversations for a Better World describes themselves like this:
Conversations for a Better World is a shared blog about the burning issues of our time, especially population, health and gender. It is a place on the Internet, where people exchange ideas. The idea is to get people talking about how we can co-create a better world. And we want you to join in and become part of a global network of conversation starters
Here is some of their policy,
‐ The conversations are hosted by the Media and Communications Branch at
the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). However, the opinions
expressed on the blog do not reflect the positions of the UNFPA ‐ we are
only providing the space on the Internet and allowing people to connect.
Sounds like us a little yeah?
Studying these networks has taught me that there must be some policy between a network and its users. But the best way is to run one's own servers, and thereby control one's own network. This takes the host, and the newest user, and puts them much closer together. Because we rarely have the means to run our own servers, using the cloud is the key to being able to create a small network, allowing the members to populate, and be given actual responsibilities over the going ons. Cloud will definately play a large part in my evokation.
Confused?
Msg me if you have any questions, i dont realy edit fo cohesion... here is a link...
