Solar Update
My solar installer , Standard Renewable Energy (SRE) called today and said I should have my 2.45 KW system in about three weeks. After the installation, the panels should provide about 30% of my home's energy.
Its a start.

Food in 2020
In 2020, the food supply will be more decentralized. Farmers will generate their energy needs on-site from renewables. Cheap clean sustainable water supply remains the biggest hurdle for farmers now and in 2020. I think the answer will be good engineering solutions.

San Antonio does not face a shortage of food. Our issue is the cost of healthy food vs unhealthy. In San Antonio an apple is more expensive than candy. Those on the lower end of the socioeconomic scale find difficulty in paying for healthy meals.
