Learn 5 - Future of Money

I think that as we approach the future we will begin to see that there may not be a one size fits all approach.

I think there are many forms of exchange that will work and I will list them and my perception of their benefit:

1. The very best, I think, is barter. I have fruit, you have vegetables. Great! Let's trade. As long as we feel like it is a fair trade, this works perfect. I think it works well if you have services to offer as well. I need a beehive built, I can sew.… Continue

Act 4 - Water Visionary

This post was very difficult for me because I feel so humbled by the enormity of the problem we face. Each of us, every living thing on this planet is responsible for the essential resource of water.

There are things I can do, however:

1. Work on my own footprint. The average person in America has a… Continue

Imagine 4 - Water Crisis

My hope is that the celebration we are having is celebrate that we have turned the page on our water waste in the higher water use countries.

http://www.treehugger.com/files/2009/06/we-use-how-much-water.php

I think as important as finding clean sources of water for developing countries, we must make conservation a priority as well.

That is what I hope to celebrate.

Learn 4 water crisis

I think that this is a great issue to tackle. We must all have access to clean, safe water or we cannot survive. To that end, I want to list just a few of the ideas I have found:

1. Getting water to people in an efficient manner so that we can reduce the incidence of disease.

Imagine 3 - A Celebration.

In 2020, I will be hosting my celebration of all the successes we have had. If you have read my earlier post, you know what we are having for dinner!

I will have scaled down my living space by having roommates, so that we can share our energy and not use more space than we need.

My energy needs will be fully independent as I will have solar roof shingles and a home wind power source, since I live in a windy area.

I will hopefully be commuting on sustainable public… Continue

Act 3

I wish I could do something amazing right this very minute to completely make myself energy sufficient.

I cannot yet, but I have a plan.

1. I have brought my energy consumption down significantly in our house.

2. I have been researching solar panels for when my roof gets replaced.

3. I have been reading about the options as far as home wind power go, since I live in a high wind area.

4. I have made a commitment that I will understand the energy impact of the… Continue

Learn 3 - Power Grid

http://www.sciencedaily.com/videos/2007/0104-smart_meters_save_363636.htm

I know this will seem cheesy, however, I think we need to both work on alternative sources:

1. Wind energy in the places where it will have the most impact.

2. Harnessing wave energy in coastal areas.

3. Solar - Can the Sahara power Europe?

4. The really new cool stuff, like water into energy,… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
