Asheville has a LETS (Local Exchange Trade System) that I've been meaning to join for a while now and never got around to it and this mission has gotten me inspired to make that happen. Although I won't be able to actually join and participate before attending an orientation meeting, I have scheduled myself for the next one and really look forward to finding yet another way to become an interwoven part of my community and extend my own
customized economic system. In lieu of being able to actually participate in LETS in time to complete this mission challenge, I submit my most recent bartering win as placeholder evidence - swapping some plumbing work from hubby to a friend who works in a yarn shop for 3 balls of gorgeous mohair and matching glass buttons that she purchased with her employee discount and traded back to me. She gets two repaired and working sinks for substantially less than what a plumber would cost and I get the materials I don't have the budget for to finally start a project I've had on my wanna-do list for ages.
